Prompt Engineering
Definition
Prompt engineering is the ability to formulate, structure and iteratively refine instructions to generative AI systems so that reliable, verifiable results emerge. In an MBA context it is less about technical tricks than about problem decomposition, context management and critical evaluation of output (hallucinations, bias, sourcing). Leading MBA programs are introducing prompt engineering as a mandatory general management building block in 2026.
