Pre-MBA

Definition

Pre-MBA programs are short preparatory courses (1-8 weeks) before the actual MBA start. Content includes basics in accounting, finance, statistics, Excel modeling, and microeconomics. The target group is students without a business background (engineers, scientists, lawyers, doctors). Benefits include closing knowledge gaps, a more relaxed start to the MBA program, and early networking with classmates. Costs range from €2,000-10,000 and are often optional. Pre-MBA courses are particularly useful for career changers without business education.

Example: "In the pre-MBA he refreshed accounting and statistics before the programme started."
