Reskilling & Upskilling

Definition

Upskilling means deepening existing competencies for the same role; reskilling means retraining for a new field of work. Given the AI-driven transformation – which more than 200 economists expect to unfold over years rather than decades – both become continuous tasks. Part-time MBA formats, modular certificates and stackable degrees are the typical instruments for executives in the DACH region.

Example: "The company funded the MBA as upskilling for future division heads."
