Online Studies
Definition
An online program takes place entirely digitally with synchronous teaching formats: lectures are transmitted live via video, seminars take place in virtual classrooms in real-time, and there are fixed class times for direct exchange with instructors and fellow students. Unlike distance learning, which primarily relies on asynchronous self-study with flexible time scheduling, online programs offer more interaction and structure through scheduled online presence sessions. Both study formats are location-independent but differ significantly in time flexibility and the degree of self-organization. Many modern programs combine both approaches in so-called blended learning.
