Merit-Based Scholarship

Definition

A merit-based scholarship is awarded based on outstanding academic performance, professional achievements, or special skills. In the MBA field, merit-based scholarships often consider GMAT/GRE scores, academic GPA, leadership experience, and professional achievements. Many business schools award their own merit scholarships to attract the best candidates.

Example: "For his GMAT score of 720 he received a merit-based scholarship of EUR 10,000."
