GRE

Definition

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test accepted by many graduate programs worldwide as an admission requirement. The GRE General Test consists of three sections: Verbal Reasoning (text comprehension and vocabulary), Quantitative Reasoning (mathematical skills) and Analytical Writing. The test takes approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes. Verbal and Quant scores each range from 130-170 points. An increasing number of business schools accept the GRE as an alternative to the GMAT for MBA applications. The GRE is particularly popular with applicants who want to apply to multiple program types (MBA, Master's, PhD).
