Accreditation

Definition

Accreditation is a quality assurance process in which degree programs or universities are reviewed by independent agencies. Accreditation guarantees that a program meets defined quality standards. In Germany, accreditation is mandatory for Bachelor and Master programs. Internationally recognized accreditations are AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

Example: "Before applying, she checks whether the programme holds a valid accreditation."
