Founded in 1477, Uppsala Universitet is Sweden’s oldest university. It is a member of the Coimbra Group of European Universities and consists of nine faculties. Often considered being one of the top universities in Northern Europe, it has been ranked 2nd in Sweden and 18th in Europa in the Academic Ranking of World Universities of 2014. It offers student exchanges with about 500 universities worldwide and also takes part in the Erasmus and Nordplus programs.
